Adam

June 5, 2025

You won’t find him in the kitchen, but you will find him in his office—sparkling water in hand (any kind will do)—pushing big ideas forward and playing contrarian just enough to make sure the “next big thing” is actually the right thing for GBM.

Sure, we’re making him sound like a full-blown workaholic—but don’t be fooled. Adam’s just as passionate about people as he is about strategy. He’s always hosting game nights, catching up over dinner with friends and family, and never turns down the chance for a good trip (we joke that he’s never in the office...).

Keep reading to hear from Adam himself and what helps him keep GBM moving forward behind the scenes.

What successful habits keep you on track?

I've found one of the best ways to push myself is with good questions - things that keep me on track. Some of my favorites include, "Does this matter, or am I pretending to be busy to hide from the important work?", "What if this was easy?" and "Is it important or simply urgent?" I'm always making sure I'm giving great effort to the meaningful work so it's not wasted. If I were to add other habits to the list? I'm always trying to read widely and collect feedback on my thinking; I've found that both refine ideas and sharpen critical thought processes.

Any CHALLENGES along the way?

Oh - so many of them! But that comes with the territory; we're bootstrapping a family-owned business, doing something that there isn't necessarily a perfectly defined market for. It's also been great to experience the growth of these challenges. In the early days, Elizabeth, Anna, and I had to work to understand how best to communicate with each other (family-owned... so you can imagine). Then, one day, we were hiring our first employee and re-designing our meal packaging. Are there too many delivery stops to route by hand? We better figure out how UPS does it and see how close we can get... We've built websites, kicked off marketing campaigns, and run countless "tests" to see what will happen, and I can honestly say that we're a better company for it.

What events lead you to where you are now?

My "formal training" comes by way of a degree in finance, but I've had the bug for entrepreneurship for most of my adult life. When I was coming of age and making my "what will I do with my life" decisions, I spurned a few traditional job paths to fan that flame to see what would happen. Don't get me wrong - I'm still a finance nerd - but I'm grateful to say that years removed from the critical crossroad, the fire is burning! Beyond the heart and mission of GBM, I've absolutely loved building and growing a business - it continues to be a heavy-duty training session in many critical entrepreneurship skills.
