Welcome to the Good Batch Mama family! We are glad you are here. We have been using frozen meals to simplify feeding our families for two generations, and you now have the tools to do the same for your family!

While our meals are available to order online anytime, all orders placed by midnight on Monday are prepped that week and delivered for free on Fridays. You can also pick them up at our shop on Thursdays from 4pm-6pm or Fridays from 8am-6pm.

If you forgot to place your order, you can come by any day during business hours and see what we have in stock! We almost always make extra as we prep each week; if you are looking for something specific, you can call ahead and see if we have it!

Now that you know how ordering works, here are five tips for using your frozen meals effectively!

1. don't fear the freezer; use it!

Let’s start with this - the freezer is not the bad guy. Our ingredients arrive on Tuesday, and your meals are prepped and in the freezer by Thursday morning. These fresh-to-frozen meals are frozen to preserve nutrients and provide a shelf life that fits your busy schedule. But this idea that you can’t maintain quality in the freezer? We disagree - strongly!

We recommend you use the freezer like a secret weapon. While you will likely use most of your regular order for meal planning, stash a few family favorites back at all times. Why? Because we know surprise guests, emergencies, and general chaos don’t call ahead, that doesn’t mean you can’t be ready for them. Simply grab your stashed meal in a pinch, and you’ve got a dinner plan. Meals in the freezer have a few months of quality shelf life before you need to use them, so you don’t have to be in a hurry. See what we mean? Secret weapon!

2. Thaw your meals every 2-3 days.

This is a fan-favorite tip for shortening your cooking time when prepping dinner. When your meals arrive on Friday, plan what you will eat for the next 2-4 days, and put those items in the fridge. They’ll safely thaw, and when you begin to prep dinner, you’re ready to rock. A Good Batch Mama meal *typically* cooks in half the time if it is thawed, and this can make all the difference on hearty meals like Lasagna, and the buns on sliders turn out much nicer when cooked from thawed. Do the same thing at the beginning of the week so you can arrive home after work and have dinner in no time.

3. Good Batch Mama meals work great as meal prep - especially for the proteins.

Most of our meals are oven-ready (yay!), and this sets us apart from most dinner prep companies. But that doesn’t mean personalized meal prep is not possible! Protein items, like chicken Marinades, Parmesan Chicken, Meatloaf, Mexican Trifecta, and Italian Meatballs, are perfectly designed to cook all at once and then be individually portioned for microwavable weeknight meals. This takes most of the mess out of rice bowls, meatball subs, simple protein/veggie plates, and more. Add in a few of our simple sides (like carrots or broccoli), and you’re basically done. We also offer individual portions of “one-dish” items like Baked Spaghetti, Smoked Sausage Jambalaya, and Salmon Bowls, many of which can be thawed and microwaved for a short-notice dinner for one.

4. We offer sides for all of our meals.

While there are some incredible side dishes you could prep to pair with our entrees, in a pinch, don’t overthink it. Most of our entrees pair well with store-bought options, like canned vegetables, a frozen potato, or a pre-made salad, so you can round out your plate with ease. Want an even easier option? We sell many of these items on our weekly menu, so you don’t even need to make another trip. Many GBM experts keep a few of our side options on hand for just this purpose. A couple of Simple Side veggies (Parisian Carrots, Seasoned Baby Baked Potatoes, and French Green Beans are fan faves) and a casserole or two (hello, Potato Casserole and Broccoli Casserole), and you’re beginning to build your own dinnertime “capsule menu.” Throw in a Mexican Street Corn, and you’re ready for whatever life throws at you.

5. Delivery is easy, trust us!

All of our delivery drivers are hired in-house by us, never a third party. The people who bring your food are typically the same people who prepare it! Occasionally, Elizabeth, one of our founding Mamas, takes a route! Although you select a 2-8 hour window at checkout, you will be texted a 30-minute time slot the day before delivery, so you aren’t stuck waiting around for food. Your meals are never in the car long, and our drivers work tirelessly to ensure deliveries are made in a timely manner to the correct address. Plus, if you have questions, you can call our office to find out how close your delivery is! If something changes in your schedule, you can cancel your home delivery and pick it up at your convenience at our shop on Thursday evenings or all day Friday.

Our hope is that each customer has a smooth, positive experience with Good Batch Mama meals to enhance their daily life, and this article is just one of the ways we are ready to help you along the way.
