The Soundtrack of a Busy Kitchen

Freezer doors are opening. Timers are going off in the background. Someone is calling across the kitchen. Labels are printing nonstop. The mixer is running before sunrise.
Every kitchen has a soundtrack. This one just happens to feed a whole lot of families.
early morning
- Everyone is arriving (who is first? Elizabeth, always!)
- Ovens preheating.
- Aprons are being tied.
- Deliveries arriving.
- Somebody is already laughing too loud (we’re looking at you, Bishop…).

You might picture Monday mornings as slow and sleepy, but around here, they rarely are. Before most people have finished their first cup of coffee, the kitchen is already moving. Meat sizzling for your favorite meals, prep tables filling up, timers starting their steady rhythm for the day.
The soundtrack starts early — a mix of clanging pans, brewing coffee, and voices carrying across the kitchen.
Mid-morning rush
- The steady rhythm of pans being sealed.
- Checklists are getting marked off.
- “Can somebody check the cookies?”
- The label printer is running nonstop (literally).
- Someone is double-checking ingredients for the third time.

By mid-morning, the pace has picked up. The kitchen gets louder, the conversations get quicker, and somehow everyone is moving in ten different directions at once.
The coffee is still flowing, meals are stacking up in the freezer, and the label printer hasn’t stopped long enough for anyone to notice.

afternoon
- Music is getting louder.
- Pots and pans clanging.
- Everyone is joining in on the laughter.
- Freezers are filling up with meals.
- The pace is picking up right alongside the energy.

By afternoon, the sounds start to shift. The clatter of dishes being washed mixes with music playing in the background. Floors are getting mopped, final meals are headed to the freezer, and someone is almost always telling a story while everyone else works around them.
Even as the day winds down, the kitchen never really gets quiet.

the human moments
- Singing badly to the kitchen playlist.
- Ridiculous conversations are somehow turning serious.
- Someone is always asking if there’s extra.
- Inside jokes repeated daily.
- Debates on which meal everyone’s taking home this week.
Most never hear the soundtrack behind their dinner, but around here, it sounds like timers, laughter, freezer doors, and a whole lot of teamwork.
And honestly, we wouldn’t want it any other way.
